Manhattan's Premier Boutique Architectural Firm

Brian F. Billings has been practicing architecture in New York since 1990. The firm of BFB Architect, PC was established in 2010. Our work is predicated on a philosophy in which the context of a project and the needs of the individual client inform our design more powerfully than an arbitrary “style”. Consistent through all of our projects are concerns about proportion, usefulness and hierarchy of scale. Sensitivity to the nature of materials and the pursuit of the perfectly resolved detail also characterize our work. While the stylistic responses to projects may vary, the overall sense of integrity, harmony and precision remains.

One of the guiding principals of our design process is the search for materials, forms and details which look beautiful and function well in the long term. Our satisfaction comes not only from the appearance of the project immediately following the completion of construction, but the suitability of the design and its components over time.

One of the great strengths of our firm’s small size is the total commitment to any project that we take on. We are involved in the design process and the production of construction documents as well as the day-to-day administration of the construction process.
